Our Story

Crossways Church Fellowship has been serving the local community since 2005. What began in the home of Geoff and Debbie Abbott in Colne Engaine has grown into a welcoming church family now meeting at The Queens Hall in Halstead.

We are an independent evangelical church with a strong focus on Bible teaching, prayer, and praise.

Sundays at Crossways

We meet every Sunday from 10:00am to 12:15pm at The Queens Hall, Chipping Hill, Halstead.

Our services include praise and worship, prayer, weekly communion, and a Biblebased message from Geoff, Debbie, or a visiting preacher, with time to connect over fellowship.

Growing Together

Bible teaching continues on Monday evenings, either via Zoom or in person on Wednesday mornings at Geoff and Debbie's home in Colne Engaine.

Prayer is central to church life, with additional Thursday prayer meetings alongside focused prayer during Sunday services.

Serving Our Community

In 2025 we launched a community project: Taste and See:

Based at the British Legion in Halstead, Taste and See includes:

  • Luncheons on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays for people on their own offering free food and friendship
  • Holiday activities for parents, carers, and children also including a free lunch

Supported by a strong volunteer team, we aim to serve our community with compassion, following the example of Jesus.
